African American Women Trucking Association is a movement dedicated to uplifting and transforming the lives of African American women in the trucking industry.
AAWTA is committed to the professional development of African American women in the trucking industry. We offer resources focused on skill enhancement, safety protocols, regulatory knowledge, and career advancement, including entrepreneurship within the trucking sector.
Our association is at the forefront of advocating for diversity and inclusion within the trucking industry. By promoting fair hiring practices, cultural sensitivity, and challenging discriminatory attitudes, “AAWTA” strives to create an inclusive environment that welcomes more African American women into the industry.
We actively seek collaborations with other organizations, Trucking industry contractors, educational institutions, and government bodies to pool resources, share knowledge, and spearhead initiatives designed to overcome systemic barriers and create new opportunities for African American women in trucking.
“AAWTA” engages in policy advocacy to influence laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact African American women truckers. Through advocacy campaigns, testimony, and coalition-building, we aim to forge a more equitable and supportive landscape for our members.
Our outreach efforts focus on elevating public awareness about the vital contributions of African American women truckers to both the economy and society. By sharing their stories and achievements, we challenge stereotypes and inspire a new generation of African American women to explore careers in trucking
To implement the distribution of AAWTA membership badges to all members based on their year of joining and to encourage members to use these badges in their email signatures for enhanced visibility and community recognition.
